Ⅰ. 학과교육목표
1. 독어학과 독문학을 학문적으로 연구함을 목적으로 한다.
2. 독어학에서는 독어사, 비교언어, 음운론, 형태론, 통사론, 화용론의 제분야에서 독문학사, 소설, 희곡, 시 비평 등으로 분류하여 이에 따르는 교과목을 편성한다.
3. 이 분야 중 각자의 적성에 맞추어 한 교과를 선택 연구하게 함으로써 진정한 학자로서의 기초를 닦는데 그 목적을 둔다.

독어구문론 German Syntax
독일어의 구조가 영어와 국어의 성격을 공유하고 있다는 점을 주목하고 의존문법과 변형문법의 이론을 학습한다.
The structure of German has the characteristic of English and Korean. In this aspect, we study dependency grammar and generative transformation grammar.

논문작성법 The Method of Writing thesis
논문 작성의 전반적 이해를 위한 과목으로서 논문작성의 형식적 요소(목차설정, 정확한 각주 달기, 참고문헌작성법)과 내용적(도서관 자료 및 인터넷을 통한 자료 탐색, 학습적 문장연습)을 지도 받게 된다.
We study the elements of the written paper (table settings, footnotes, bibliographies, library materials, and data over the Internet, academically sentence exercises).

독일문예학방법론 The methodology of the science of german literature
독일문예학의 개념, 범위, 연구방법론을 개관하고 문학을 하나의 과학적 학문으로 연구하는 여러 가지 방법론에 대한 학습이 이루어 질 것이다.
The concept, the scope and the research methodology of German Literature are overviewed. We study the different research methods for the literature as a scientific discipline.

시, 드라마, 소설 등의 문학 장르를 연구하고 그 대표적인 작품들은 감상, 이해, 분석하여 장르의 특성을 분석한다.

독일어의 품사별 어휘, 어휘들의 역사적 발전의 관련성과 조이상의 원리들을 중점적으로 연구한다.

독어형태론 German Morphology
독문법에 있어서 명사, 형용사의 비교, 동사의 어미 형태를 연구하고 형태소가 단어 및 문장 형성에 어떻게 관련되는가를 분석한다.

중세독어연구 Medieval German
고대독일어는 중세에 와서 그 지방마다 특유한 언어로 정착하게 되지만 잠차로 지역적인 패쇄성이 무너지면서 근대 독일어로 발전해 가는 과정을 연구한다.

20세기독어학 20th Century German Linguistics
N.Chomsky의 수정확대 표준이론에 의거하여 독일어의 구조를 연구한다.
