1. 음성학 음운론 통사론 의미론 등 여러 영어학 분야를 체계적으로 학습하고 또한 영미의 문학작품과 문학비평이론을 연구하여 영미권의 어문학에 대한 기본지식을 습득한다

영어음성학Ⅰ English Phonetics Ⅰ

음성학의 주요 세 분야인 조음음성학 음향음성학 청각음성학의 기본이론을 개관한다

Basic theories of three main areas in phonetics–articulatory phonetics, acoustic phonetics, auditory phonetics–are introduced.

영어음성학ⅡⅡ

영어 음성음운 현상을들여다보고 음성학에서 사용하는정량적분석도구를 소개하고영어 음성음운 현상에대한 작은 실험들을 수행해본다

English phonetic and phonological phenomena are examined. Quantitative analytical tools used in phonetics are introduced. Small experiments on English phonetic or phonological phenomena are conducted.

생성음운론의 기본 개념을 습득하고 실제 자료들을 분석함으로써 영어 음운 현상의 제 문제를 이해하는 능력을 기른다

This course helps students develop their abilities of understanding various issues in English phonological processes by acquiring the basic concepts of generative phonology and analyzing actual language data.

This course aims to deal with a variety of phonological theories ranging from the beginning stages of non-linear phonology to autosegmental phonology, lexical phonology, and metrical phonology.

This course examines key issues and concepts in contemporary theory so that students can learn how to approach literary works from a range of different analytic and interpretive perspectives.

18세기영소설연구 Eighteenth-Century British Novel

근대 영소설의 형성기에 발표된 대표적인 소설을 꼼꼼하게 읽고 성 계급 가정 이데올로기교육 과학과 기술 문명 등의 다양한 쟁 점들에 대해 논의한다

This course aims to introduce students to the development of the British novel in the early modern period. Through close reading of representative texts, we will investigate how these novels address such issues as class, gender, domestic ideology, education, science and technology.

19세기영소설연구

19세기 영국 소설의 발전과정과 그 특징 및 대표적인 작가와 작품을 연구한다

This course aims to introduce students to the development of the British novel in the nineteenth century. Through close reading of representative texts, we will investigate how these novels contribute to the progress of the novel tradition in the period.

This course is designed to examine theories of British and American novel since its ‘rise’ in the early modern period.

현대영소설연구

Joseph Conrad, D.H. Lawrence, James Joyce, Virginia Woolf, E.M. Forster에 대한 작가연구와 대표적인 작품을 선정하여 강독함으 로써 현대영소설에 대한 이해를 증진한다

This course is designed to introduce students to modern English novel written in Great Britain and America in the twentieth cen- tury. In the course, we will read selected short stories and short novels, and examine social, historical, and political contexts within which these works were produced.
