Submit Application for Advisor Assignment

1st

Before the end of the 1st semester

• Transfer students should submit the application before the end of the semester they transferred to Wonkwang.
• If the Advisor professor is changed ,thesis(or dissertation) will be evaluated at least after one semester from the date the application is approved

Submit Research Proposal or a Application for Changing Research Topic

2nd

In March or September

• If the research topic is changed after mid-presentation,thesis(or dissertation) will be evaluated at least after one semester from the date the application is approved.

Pre-presentation and Submission of Evaluation Report

3rd

In March or September

• Evaluation report of pre-presentation must be submitted at least one semester before the final thesis(or dissertation) evaluation.

Foreign Language Exam

2nd

In March or September

• Applicant should have enrolled in graduate school for at least 2 semesters.
• International students should take Korean Language exam.□ Qualified applicants will be granted exemption.

Qualifying Exam

4th

In April or October

• MA candidates will take 3 exams; Ph.D. candidates will take 4 exams.
• Qualifications
  • Have been enrolled in graduate school for at least 4 semesters
  • Passed foreign language exam.
  • Have obtained or will obtain required credits except for prerequisite credits.

Submit Applications for Thesis or Dissertation Evaluation

4th

In April or October

• Qualifications
  • Have been enrolled in graduate school for at least 4(8) semesters.
  • Already obtained or will obtain required credits except for prerequisite credits.
  • GPA higher than 3.0
  • Passed foreign language exam and qualifying exam.
  • Submitted the thesis or dissertation in less than 10 years after completing the course work.
  • Have been directed by the advisor for at least 1 semester.
  • Submitted the research proposal and passed the pre-presentation at least one semester before the evaluation.
  • (For doctoral candidates) Have published at least one article after the admission in the graduate program
